Breakfast Jams
Fred Koch (pronounced "Cook") joins a wonderful group of community and student DJs at WMXM-FM broadcasting from the beautiful campus of Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois. Breakfast Jams can be heard most Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 6:00 - 8:00 AM (Central Daylight Time) on WMXM - FM 88.9 (Lake County Illinois) and streaming worldwide at wmxm.org. Fred Koch's Background From 2014 through 2018 Fred enjoyed serving as the Preschool - 2nd Grade music specialist at Lake Bluff Elementary School in Lake Bluff, Illinois. Fred's music education background also includes 25+ years as a music educator with most of those years being spent in Lake Forest (IL) Elementary School District 67. During that time he served the children of all K-4 primary schools (Cherokee, Deer Path Elementary, Everett and Sheridan) at one time or another during his career. In 2006, Fred received his Technology in Education master's degree from Lesley University and worked as a Technology Coach for the next six years - four of his years in Lake Forest School District 67 and then two years in the Chicago Public Schools at Sauganash School. He has been honored with the Kohl Foundation International Prize for Exemplary Teaching and was selected as a Golden Apple Finalist (2006). Fred is also a Google Certified Teacher (2008) and has received the Tech4Learning Innovative Educator certification (2010). In addition, Fred enjoys playing music in a few local bands and volunteers as a musician at The Community Church of Lake Forest and Lake Bluff. |
